BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX® injections are well known for their ability to diminish the appearance of frown lines and furrows in the brow and other areas. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a filler; instead, it works by reducing the activity of the facial muscles that cause wrinkles to form. The procedure is not painful, and in most cases takes under fifteen minutes to perform at our Beverly Hills / Los Angeles area office. The results of BOTOX® injections are not permanent, with most patients experiencing results that last up to four months.
JUVÉDERM®
JUVÉDERM® is a wrinkle filler available at our practice serving the Los Angeles and Beverly Hills areas. Unlike Radiesse™, it does not stimulate the body to produce new collagen, but the results of JUVÉDERM® injections can last up to one year. JUVÉDERM® is an injectable filler made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is found naturally in human skin. Dr. Lee can inject JUVÉDERM® into wrinkles or creases that have developed over time, such as the smile lines that can form between the nose and the mouth. The procedure takes approximately fifteen minutes to perform.
Radiesse™
Radiesse™ is a dermal filler, like JUVÉDERM®, that may be injected into creases and wrinkles in the face to restore a smooth, youthful appearance. This filler is made of calcium-based microspheres suspended in gel that can help to stimulate the body’s natural ability to replace lost collagen. Results from Radiesse™ can last up to one year. This filler may also be used on the hands to reduce the signs of aging.
Collagen
Collagen is a program of treatments that can soften and fill in facial lines and wrinkles. Collagen is an excellent option for those patients who are not ready for plastic surgery. It can also be used as a finishing touch to surgery to help maintain positive effects. Collagen is a natural protein that supports and cushions your skin. When age, disease, or injury wear down this natural collagen support, a line or wrinkle may form. Collagen is implanted through a fine needle into your skin, where it joins your body's own collagen to improve your skin's natural contours by filling in the lines and wrinkles.
Fat Injections
Fat injections are another method of filling facial irregularities, wrinkles, or folds. The patient's own fat is removed or suctioned from an area where there is excess fat, and then the fat is injected into a fold or depression of the face. These treatments are an ongoing process as these treatments are not permanent. They are reabsorbed by the body, requiring injections every four to six months to maintain the positive effects.
